SHAH ALAM: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today urged for his RM150 million defamation suit against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be expedited, saying he wishes to clear his name as soon as possible.
The 100-year-old, two-time former prime minister said the case had been pending for too long.
“Actually, Anwar had asked for a two-week deferment and I agreed.
“But now, it has been two years and the trial will only be held on Oct 21, 23 and 29.
“I have no problem with that, but if possible, I want it to be expedited.
“I have been waiting for it (the trial). I am overaged,” he told a press conference after attending a case management proceeding before High Court judicial commissioner Datuk Donald Joseph Franklin.
