DJI has launched the Osmo 360 in Malaysia, its first all-in-one camera capable of recording native 8K 360-degree video. Seen as a direct competitor to the Insta360 X5, DJI’s first 360 camera aims to challenge its rival with larger sensor, higher resolution image capture, longer battery life for continuous 8K 30fps recording.

The DJI Osmo 360 is now available in Malaysia and here’s the pricing for both combos:
- DJI Osmo 360 Standard Combo – RM1,879
- DJI Osmo 360 Adventure Combo – RM2,369
The Adventure Combo provides extra items such as two additional batteries, Osmo Adjustable Quick-Release Adapter Mount, USB-C to USB-C Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case 2 and Osmo 1.2m Invisible Selfie Stick.

DJI Osmo 360 Specs and Features

The DJI Osmo 360 features dual 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors, supporting 360-degree video capture up to 8K/30fps. It also supports 4K/100fps, 6K/60fps, 5.3K/60fps, and 3.8K/120fps formats. For stills, it can capture single-lens photo of 30.72MP (6400×4800)in a 4:3 aspect ratio and Panoramic Photos at 120MP (15520×7760) in a 2:1 aspect ratio.
The cameras has a f/1.9 aperture, a large pixel size of 2.4-micron and a ISO range of 100-51200. It supports 10-bit and D-Log M mode to unlock a wider dynamic range. As you would expect from a 360 action camera, it also supports invisible selfie stick with no extra editing needed.

The Osmo 360 features a 2″ 314×566 touch screen, 128GB of built-in storage (105GB available) and it supports microSD card expansion of up to 1TB. All your captured content is managed through the DJI Mimo app, which provides editing, reframing, and export functionality.
For stabilisation, the DJI Osmo 360 comes with 360° HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0+. These electronic image stabilisation systems not only help to reduce shakes but it also maintain a level horizon and reduce motion blur during high-speed or handheld shooting.

The camera itself is rated for IP68 and supports underwater use up to 10 metres without a case and it can withstand extreme temperatures as low as -20°C to 45°C. It weighs 183g, which is slightly lighter than the Insta360 X5.
Powering the Osmo 360 is a removable 1950mAh Li-ion 1S battery which claims to provide up to 100 minutes of panoramic video recording at 8K/30fps. However, this was tested with Wi-Fi, screen, Gesture Control, Voice Control, and Editing Assistant turned off. For 6K/24fps panoramic video recording, it is rated to support up to 190 minutes.

The camera supports Voice Control 2.0, gesture control, and 4-mic omnidirectional audio recording with wind noise reduction. In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11ax WiFi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.1 for wireless file transfers as high as 90MB/s. For quicker transfers, the USB 3.1 (USB-C) port supports a higher 600MB/s.
For charging, you can get 50% of power with a quick 12-minute charge via a 30W USB-C PD 3.0 charger. If you need longer battery life, the Osmo 360 can be paired with the Battery Extension Rod which connects magnetically and provides recording time of up to 4.5 hours.
