PETALING JAYA:

The price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be raised by three sen from RM2.91 per litre to RM2.94 per litre, the finance ministry has announced.

In a statement, the ministry said this followed a recent hike in global oil prices, but was still lower than the price of RM3.35 per litre when diesel was first floated in June 2024.

RON97 and RON95 petrol will continue to be sold at RM3.17 and RM2.05 per litre, respectively, nationwide.

In East Malaysia, diesel will retail at the subsidised price of RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

These prices will be in effect until Aug 13.

The ministry said the government will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the people’s continued welfare and wellbeing.
