KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay visted the families of two late police personnel at their homes in Terengganu yesterday.

In a post on Facebook, the police said the visit was a gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices of the two officers — the late Corporal Raja Asri Raja Mat and the late Corporal Wan Muhammad Firdaus Wan Nasir.

“This visit reflects te police’s continued commitment to honouring the sacrifices and service of its fallen members.

“At the same time, it aims to provide moral support to their families as a mark of compassion and gratitude for their contributions to the force,” the post read.

Raja Asri, who served with the Special Branch at the Setiu district police headquarters, died in a road accident at Km 63 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu–Kota Baru on July 30, 2016, at the age of 29.

Meanwhile, Wan Muhammad Firdaus, 36, who was serving at the Police Training Centre in Dungun, Terengganu, died on Dec 2, 2024, after being swept away by strong currents while assisting flood victims in an oil palm plantation area near his home.
