PETALING JAYA:

The defence and home ministries will receive a combined allocation of RM43 billion next year under the 2026 budget.

Prime Minister Ibrahim said the defence ministry has been allocated RM21.7 billion, while the home ministry will receive RM21.2 billion.

Of the total, he said RM6 billion will go towards the maintenance and procurement of defence assets, including medium, short and very short-range air defence systems, two Multi-Role Support Ships, and 10 vehicles for the Malaysian Battalions.

Another RM1 billion, he said, will be allocated for the acquisition and maintenance of assets for the police and other uniformed agencies under the home ministry.

also said over RM1.5 billion has been set aside for the construction and upgrading of new facilities for uniformed agencies nationwide.

Among them are the Sarawak police headquarters, the Kudat Maritime Zone Complex in Sabah and the ICQS complex in Sungai Tujoh, Miri.
