SEPANG: Police have opened a murder investigation following the discovery of a decomposed body of a woman near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last week.

KLIA district police chief ACP Azman Shari’at said a member of the public alerted the police at 7.50pm on Sept 1 after finding the body near a road near the KLIA limousine area.

The victim, who has yet to be identified, was still clothed in a white ‘Drum’ branded t-shirt with the words ‘Fear Less’ and cream cargo shorts. However, the body was already in a decomposed state, with the head reduced to a skull, he said in a statement today.

Initial investigations suggest the woman had been dead for about a week. The body was later sent to Serdang Hospital’s forensic unit for a post-mortem.

Azman said pathologists found four suspicious injuries on the body. Police have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, while the motive is still being investigated.

He urged anyone with missing family members matching the description or with information on the case to contact investigating officer DSP Tee Ah Chew at 018-2183555 or the nearest police station.
