Decision on bid to reinstate corruption charges against Isa Samad on Feb 10

: The Federal Court has set Feb 10 to deliver its verdict on the prosecution’s appeal to reinstate nine corruption charges against former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

A three-member bench led by Datuk Nordin Hassan fixed the date after hearing submissions from both parties today.

The prosecution is seeking to restore the High Court’s 2021 decision, which found Isa guilty of nine counts of receiving RM3 million in gratification.

For those offences, he was sentenced to six years’ jail and fined RM15.45 million, in default 18 years’ imprisonment.

The Court of Appeal later acquitted Isa.
