ISKANDAR PUTERI: Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV) and Oriental Holdings Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore the development of a RM750 million healthcare facility in Forest City here today.

The proposed hospital, envisioned as a regional healthcare destination, will offer multi-specialty services including oncology, geriatric and respiratory medicine, colorectal and neurosurgery, as well as orthopaedics.

Plans also include advanced diagnostics, a therapeutic cancer centre, and wellness and rehabilitation programmes.

Oriental Holdings deputy group managing director Datuk Seri Tan Hui Jing said the project reflects the group’s commitment to clinical excellence and innovation.

“The facility will deliver a comprehensive suite of medical services aimed at attracting both domestic and international patients, while positioning Johor as a hub for medical tourism,” he said.

Meanwhile, CGPV executive director Datuk Md Othman Yusof said the initiative would strengthen Forest City’s appeal as an integrated destination while creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

“This collaboration brings essential healthcare closer to communities while enhancing Forest City’s role as a well-connected hub for wellness and lifestyle services,” he said.

The MoU was signed at the Forest City Marina Hotel and witnessed by state Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon.

The proposed facility marks a strategic collaboration between CGPV – developer of the 30 sq km Forest City smart township – and Oriental Holdings, owner of the Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre, a 300-bed tertiary care hospital.

The project is expected to tap into growing demand from Malaysians, Singaporeans and international patients seeking specialised and high-quality medical services in Iskandar Malaysia.
