IPOH, Sept 13 — Nine individuals arrested to facilitate investigations into the discovery of a dead woman in a car in Simpang Pulai last week were released on police bail today.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the eight men and one woman were released while waiting for further instructions from the prosecution. He added that investigations were still ongoing.
“The police remanded all the suspects since Monday and today we received instructions from the deputy public prosecutor to release them,” he told reporters here today. The case is being investigated under Section 302/307 of the Penal Code and Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
The nine were arrested after the body of the woman was discovered in a car of a suspect who shot and stabbed a police personnel at 1.15 am in Simpang Pulai.
Police are still tracking down the suspect, who remains at large. — Bernama
