TELUK INTAN, Sept 21 — A property dispute is believed to be the motive behind the murder of an elderly woman whose body was discovered in a car in Simpang Pulai on September 7.
Perak Police Chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said investigations revealed that the main suspect, who is still at large, was related to the victim but is believed to have fled abroad.
“It was indeed motivated by (a dispute over) inheritance. All nine individuals detained earlier also were related,” he told reporters after closing the ‘Ter..Paling Pahlawan Challenge 2025’, at Padang Speedy, here yesterday.
He pointed out that the murder motive could only be confirmed after the suspect is arrested.
Noor Hisam also shared that the police constable was shot by the murder suspect was still receiving treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh and is in stable condition.
“We also have yet to recover the constable’s pistol, which was seized by the suspect during the incident,” he said. — Bernama
