KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Mohd Azani Omar has been appointed the new Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief.
He succeeds Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, who retires today after more than 37 years of service in the police force.
Azani previously served as the police aide-de-camp to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong prior to his promotion.
Former Dang Wangi police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman has assumed duties as the new aide-de-camp.
The handing-over of duties ceremony was witnessed by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus.
