IPOH: The search and rescue operation for a man who is feared to have drowned in Sungai Baru Labu in Bota Kiri near Seri Iskandar, on Wednesday, was postponed late this evening.

Acting Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the search was postponed at 6.40pm due to dying light and safety factors.

In a statement tonight, he said the operation would resume at 8.30am tomorrow.

The department received information about the incident at 5.46am today.

The missing person, Muhammad Nurman Mohd Nor, 27, had reportedly not returned home since 2pm on Wednesday, after herding cows into the pen and informing his father that he was going to bathe in the river.
