KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi cyclist has died after being hit twice while crossing the road at the traffic light intersection of Jalan Persiaran BRP 1, Sungai Buloh.
Sungai Buloh police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the incident yesterday is urged to come forward and assist in the investigation.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that while the victim was crossing the road on a bicycle, he was suddenly hit by an MPV coming from the direction of Bukit Rahman Putra.
“Following the first collision, the victim was thrown onto the road and was subsequently hit by a motorcycle and another MPV, causing severe injuries.
“The victim was confirmed dead at the scene. The body was taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital Forensic Department for further action,” he said in a statement.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this incident is urged to come forward and assist in the investigation.
“They may contact the traffic investigating officer, Inspector Che Hassan Ambok, at 013-394 0423 or the Sungai Buloh District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-6156 1222,” he said.
He added that the public should be more cautious when driving and obey traffic regulations.
