BUKIT MERTAJAM: Everyone has the right to criticise him and the government as long as it is based on facts and delivered accurately, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said he has no problem with criticism if it is based on facts and delivered responsibly.
“Recently I saw that a retired Thai general criticised me, and suddenly it became a big deal,” he said.
He dismissed the former general’s remarks on his role in facilitating the Thailand-Cambodia peace deal during the recent Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
The uproar was triggered by Gen Rangsi Kitiyansap’s accusation in a television interview that Anwar was a “spy” interfering in Thailand’s affairs.
Rangsi accused Anwar of being a spy, questioning why he was meddling in Thailand’s internal issues.
Anwar said this during his speech at the Komuniversiti Kolaboratif programme at Kampung Cherok To’kun on Saturday (Nov 8).
During the event, Anwar witnessed an MoU exchange between Yapeim chairman Abdul Khudus Mohd Naaim and USAS vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Wan Sabri Wan Yusof.
The MoU will allow tahfiz students without SPM certification to sit the examination through a fast track programme.
