Crash Denies Hakim Danish 2025 RBRC Runner-up Spot

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) — A crash at the second corner during the final Round 2 race at the Misano Circuit in Italy today ended young Malaysian rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli’s hopes of finishing as runner-up in the 2025 Red Bull Rookies Cup (RBRC).

Starting from sixth on the grid, Hakim Danish was chasing the front pack when his motorcycle skidded out, forcing him to retire from the race with eight laps remaining.

As a result, the 18-year-old concluded his third campaign with 171 points and was overtaken by Indonesian rider Veda Pratama, who climbed to second overall with 181 points, behind Spanish champion Brian Uriarte who collected 236 points.

Nevertheless, Hakim Danish can take pride in becoming the first Malaysian rider to secure a top-three overall finish in the RBRC.

The Terengganu-born rider had previously finished 12th during his debut season in 2023, before improving to sixth place last year.

Earlier, Spain’s David Gonzalez triumphed in today’s final race, edging Uriarte by just +0.052 seconds, while Argentina’s Marco Morelli completed the podium in third.
