
IPOH: A man is believed to have disguised himself as a woman and broken into three shops in Tanjung Malim, carting away items and money.
The break-ins were said to have occurred on Wednesday (Nov 12) between 4.15am and 6.20am.
The suspect was said to have worn a baju kurung and long grey-coloured pants while wearing a blue-coloured motorcycle helmet.
In one of the incidents, the suspect broke into a telecommunications shop in Taman Bunga Raya at 4.42am.
The suspect broke the glass door, entered the premises and took 10 old phones and some money, with estimated losses of about RM4,200.
In another incident, the suspect broke into a beverage shop in Taman Anggerik Desa at 5am and stoke about RM500.
The suspect also broke into a seafood restaurant in Taman Wangsa at 5.23am and stole a mobile phone and some coins, worth a total of about RM500.
When contacted, Muallim OCPD Supt Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir confirmed the incidents and said that the suspect had tried to hit seven locations.
“Only three shops suffered losses,” he said.
“We are investigating the cases under Section 457 of the Penal Code,” he said.
“We’ve identified the suspect and is now trying to arrest him,” he added.
