Police will summon a local actor for questioning after his girlfriend alleged that he had assaulted her earlier this month.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the woman, who filed a police report on April 7, alleged that she was hit by the suspect in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, resulting in injuries to her face and body.
Bernama reported Hussein as telling a press conference that police are investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, with the suspect to be called in soon as part of the ongoing investigation.
He said this is the second report filed by the woman against the same man. A previous complaint made last year was withdrawn.
Previously, the 26-year-old woman, known only as Qhaisha, shared on her Instagram page pictures of the injuries to her face and body, which she alleged were caused by the actor.
The actor, widely reported by local media to be Ammar Alfian Aziz Zakri, also known as Ammar Alfian, 38, has denied the allegations and dismissed the police report as baseless.
