PETALING JAYA:

Penang police have completed and resubmitted investigation papers on a doctor suspected to be involved in indecent acts to the deputy public prosecutor’s  office.

The male doctor had been arrested four times over these alleged acts, including the molest of a female patient, Bernama reported.

Acting Penang police chief Alwi Zainal Abidin said the investigation papers included a chemical analysis report from the forensic department.

He said the latest investigation papers involve three cases reported in the Timur Laut district, where the 43-year-old doctor is alleged to have behaved indecently towards female patients between February and March.

“We are waiting for further instructions from the DPP,” he said after attending the disposal of drug case items in Kepala Batas, Penang, today.

Alwi also said an investigation into a fourth case against the doctor, reported in the Barat Daya district on July 21, had been completed and would be referred to the D5 (legal) division of the Bukit Aman criminal investigation department first before being submitted to the DPP’s office.

He said three of the cases were investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for acts intended to insult the modesty of a person, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for the use of indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour that could lead to a breach of the peace.

The case reported in the Barat Daya district is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code involving the offence of assaulting or use of criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty.
