PETALING JAYA:

Police have launched an investigation after a Form Three student fell from the third floor of a school’s dormitory building in Sabak Bernam, , early this morning.

police chief Shazeli Kahar said it is too early to link the incident to bullying, but investigations would look into all angles.

“It is premature to conclude anything at this stage, especially regarding bullying. We are still recording statements from witnesses and individuals connected to the case,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for child abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Shazeli urged the public not to speculate on the case, warning that assumptions could disrupt the investigation and cause emotional stress to the victim’s family.

According to Sinar Harian, the student, 15-year-old Ahmad Irfan Ahmad Hanafi, is in critical condition after the fall.

His uncle, Aidil Mansor, said a CT scan revealed bleeding on both sides of his brain, a fractured jaw, and injuries to the lungs.

The family lodged a police report at the Sabak Bernam police station at 5am today, after being notified about the incident around 4am.
