
KUALA LUMPUR: The body of the man who drowned after being swept away in a water surge incident near the Pintasan Saloma (Saloma Link) here was positively identified by his tattoo, according to police.
The tattoo was of the victim’s own name, Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam told a press conference at district police headquarters here on Friday (Nov 21).
“A physical identification was also made by a relative. The body was found relatively intact, with only some tears in his clothes.
“A post-mortem will be conducted, and it is expected that the body will be released to the family tomorrow. The case is still being investigated as a Sudden Death Report,” he said.

He added that the search and rescue (SAR) operation was conducted without any injuries despite an incident involving a capsized police boat.
The incident, which occurred at about 5.30pm on Monday (Nov 17), also involved 11 other individuals trapped under a bridge.
However, all of them were successfully rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department.
According to the department’s Selangor assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, the body was found on Friday morning near a rubbish catchment area in Sungai Kandis.
