SUBANG JAYA: Police have enlisted the help of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in the investigation into politicians being blackmailed by supposedly fake lewd videos.

The MCMC’s help is believed to be needed to obtain information of the email sender.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Mamat confirmed the matter.

On Saturday (Sept 13), former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli in a video on his Facebook page claimed that both him and Subang MP Wong Chen had been threatened with the distribution of their “lewd videos” that supposedly showed them sleeping with a man if they didn’t pay a certain sum of money.

The former minister said that the video, which was sent via email, was clearly made with artificial intelligence (AI).

“The screenshots shared to me showed a man, a bed in a room and a blurry setting. What’s even more funnier is that half an hour later Subang MP Wong Chen messaged me stating that he was threatened with a similar video.

“We shared screenshots and apparently we have been accused of sleeping with the same man,” he said.
