SoyaCincau.com is expanding our Bahasa Melayu coverage and we’re looking for a Content Creator who lives, breathes, and dreams tech. If you love turning complex ideas into clear, engaging content that helps Malaysians make smarter decisions, this one’s for you.
Established in 2008, SoyaCincau.com is Malaysia’s leading multi-language tech media platform, publishing in English, BM, and Chinese. We exist to connect with inquisitive minds by keeping them informed. From smartphones and EVs to digital finance and tech policies, we aim to build a society of responsible content creators and consumers.
What you’ll do
- Be a content alchemist: Plan, write, and produce content across formats — website articles, explainers, social posts, and short videos. From gadgets and telco plans to digital services and policies that affect Malaysians, you’ll cover news, reviews, features, and more.
- Grow your beat: Develop expertise in a specific tech area and become a trusted reference for our audience.
- Champion the consumer: Break down complicated products, plans, and services into simple, actionable insights that help people choose wisely.
- Move fast, stay accurate: Track trends, spot stories, and publish with speed — without compromising on clarity or credibility.
- Collaborate: Work with editors, video, social, and graphics to bring your ideas to life.
What you bring
- Strong Bahasa Melayu writing with clean structure, clear explanations, and an engaging tone.
- Curiosity and research chops — you dig for context, sources, and the “why” behind the news.
- News sense and initiative — you can pitch, prioritise, and ship.
- Story telling in videos — Capturing the moment in videos, and familiar with social video formats and editing tools including CapCut.
- Familiar with publishing tools (WordPress) and social platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).
- Basic analytics literacy (e.g. Google Analytics, YouTube analytics) to learn what works and improve.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals (headlines, keywords, snippets) to help content get discovered.
- Team player mindset, open-mindedness, and a genuine passion for learning.
Nice to have (bonus points):
- 2–4 years of online writing experience (tech publication experience is a plus).
- Understanding of tech, culture, and society trends.
- On-camera confidence or willingness to learn for short video content.
