PUTRAJAYA: More than 100 congregants attended the funeral prayers for the late Halimah Yaacob, mother of former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who passed away tonight.
The funeral prayers at Masjid Mahmoodiah, Precinct 18 here were led by Halimah’s son, Dr Mohd Shafie Mustafa.
Also present were Dr Zaliha and her father, Mustafa Mohd Salleh, 91, Kampong Bharu Development Corporation (PKB) chief executive officer Dr Khairul Nizam Othman, and other family members.
Halimah’s remains were then taken back to her hometown in Johor and are expected to be laid to rest at the Ar-Raudha Cemetery in Saleng, Kulai, at about 8 am tomorrow.
She passed away at the age of 77 at Dr Zaliha’s residence in Putrajaya due to multiple illnesses, including diabetes and high blood pressure. — BERNAMA
