SHAH ALAM: Several coastal districts in Selangor, including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Petaling, Klang and Hulu Langat, have been hit by floods following heavy downpours since morning.
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is closely monitoring the situation in all affected areas, as well as the condition of dams across the state.
“The water levels in the dams are stable so far. We are still waiting for reports from the ground and will issue a statement regarding the state’s flood mitigation steps by Monday (Nov 24) evening.
“All related excos and agencies will be on the ground checking on the victims as well as the impact of the floods on the affected areas,” he said at a press conference after launching the Selangor Creative Economy Action Plan 2025–2035 at Bangunan SUK Selangor.
Amirudin added that the downpour is expected to continue until Tuesday (Nov 25).
When asked about the number of active temporary relief centres (PPS) in the state, he said he did not have the figures yet.
“The most important aspect here is to ensure the victims’ safety when they are being transferred to the PPS,” he said.
