KUALA LUMPUR: Citaglobal Bhd’s subsidiary Citaglobal Land Sdn Bhd has won a RM628 million contract from Jabatan Bekalan Air to design and build the dual-function pond for raw water source and flood mitigation project in .

This follows a successful tender process initiated by Jabatan Bekalan Air in March this year, according to the group’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The project, which carries a 48-month completion timeline, is a design-and-build contract involving the construction of key water infrastructure components.

This includes a weir and raw water pumping station at Sungai Klang, installation of raw water pipelines from Sungai Klang to Sungai Air Hitam and upgrading of 10 existing ponds into integrated detention and sedimentation systems.

The scope also covers the construction of a side spillway and stilling basin near the Sungai Air Hitam–Sungai Klang confluence, as well as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and supporting infrastructure works.

The first phase of the project, spanning 12 months, will prioritise the development of the dual-function and sedimentation pond systems.

“The contract will further increase and enhance the order book to around RM1.7 billion, based on the group’s outstanding order book of RM1.1 billion as at June 2025.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings, earnings per share and net assets throughout the contract period,” Citaglobal said.

The dual-function pond project has been designated as a high-priority flood mitigation initiative under the 12th Malaysia Plan.

Once completed, it is expected to serve dual purposes, mitigating floods and providing a sustainable raw water source, thereby enhancing ‘s water supply resilience and lifting the state’s reserve margin to over 15 per cent.
