CIMB Group has introduced CIMB OCTO Biz, a next-generation business banking app designed to streamline operations for sole proprietors, SMEs and corporates across ASEAN. The launch marks a key step in CIMB’s digital-first strategy to simplify business banking and support cross-border growth in the region.
Unveiled at the CIMB ASEAN SME Economic Forum, the app integrates banking services with business management tools to provide users with real-time cash flow insights, financing access and data-driven recommendations. OCTO Biz builds on the user experience of CIMB’s retail OCTO app, extending similar digital convenience to business users.
Powered by AI and data analytics, OCTO Biz delivers personalised insights and proactive recommendations based on each business’s transaction patterns. The platform also includes SME FlexiCash/-i, a revenue-based financing feature that automatically grants pre-qualified credit limits using account data. Businesses can then repay according to a percentage of their earnings, offering flexibility compared to traditional fixed instalments.
CIMB said the app is part of its effort to empower businesses through digital innovation while promoting financial inclusion. According to Group CEO Datuk Novan Amirudin, CIMB views banking as a strategic enabler of growth, helping businesses navigate a dynamic economic environment with secure and future-ready solutions.
The app supports real-time dashboards, foreign exchange management, bulk payments, and trade solutions, with enhanced security measures such as biometric login, multi-factor authentication, and behavioural fraud monitoring. A built-in “kill switch” allows users to lock their accounts immediately in case of a lost device or suspected breach.
CIMB noted that more than half of its SME clients have already onboarded OCTO Biz. As of 2025, the platform has processed RM17 billion in transaction value across 7 million transactions. The app is now available on mobile and web, and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
Following its rollout in Malaysia, CIMB plans to expand OCTO Biz to Indonesia and Singapore by the first half of 2026, followed by Cambodia and other ASEAN markets. Fully digital account onboarding for sole proprietors and SMEs is expected by the end of 2025.
