TANGKAK: A total of 25 passengers were left shaken after the express bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident with a trailer at Km152.4 of the North-South Expressway this morning.
According to Sinar Harian, Bukit Gambir Fire and Rescue Department operations commander, Senior Fire Superintendent II Kaib Dawan, said two people sustained minor injuries.
He said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.24am.
“Upon arrival at 11.43am, it was found that the accident involved an express bus carrying 26 people, including the driver, and a trailer.
“Firefighters then proceeded to open the bus doors to evacuate passengers. None of the victims were trapped, but two bus passengers sustained minor injuries, while the trailer driver and his assistant were unharmed,” he said.
He added that the Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit provided initial treatment to the injured with assistance from medical officers at the scene, and the operation ended at 12.20pm.
