KUALA LUMPUR: “Some prayers don’t have words anymore, only tears and trust.”
Those were the heartfelt words of Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad as she mourned the passing of her husband, Kinabatangan member of Parliament Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
In a series of Instagram stories, Zizie Izette shared how, throughout their marriage, she witnessed a side of the veteran politician that few had seen.
“They may not know his heart, but I do.
“For 16 years, I’ve seen his kindness, his generosity, his selfless love for people. Please keep him in your prayers,” she wrote.
In another post, she poured out her grief: “Tonight, I leave one beloved soul in Allah’s hands and let this moon carry what my heart can’t say out loud.”
It was reported that Bung died at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah at 1.46am.
News of his death was announced by his son, Naim Kurniawan Moktar, in a Facebook post earlier today.
Bung, who was also Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman, had been admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit since yesterday afternoon.
During the 17th Sabah general election, which concluded on Nov 29, he retained the Lamag seat for another term with a slim majority of 153 votes in a six-cornered contest.
