Bung Moktar hospitalised with kidney failure and severe lung infection - Jafry

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah secretary Datuk Jafry Ariffin says that Sabah chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin is in critical condition following kidney failure and a severe lung infection.

Speaking to Sinar Harian, Jafry appealed to the public to pray for Bung Moktar’s recovery.

“Both kidneys have failed, and the lungs are severely infected. Please pray that all matters are eased,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that friends and political leaders from across the divide have gathered at the hospital where Bung is receiving treatment.

Among those visiting were Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin, also Sabah secretary; Kawang assemblyman Datuk Seri Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar; and Tempasuk assemblyman Datuk Mohd Arsad Bistari, both from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

His son, Naim Moktar, had expressed gratitude to local imams for their prayers and support.

In a post on his official social media account, Naim said the family was deeply moved by the efforts of religious leaders in the Lamag area who organised ‘solat hajat’ for Bung Moktar’s recovery.
