Malaysians can enjoy lower RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre starting 30th September under the BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) initiative.
This new RM1.99 per litre price is applicable for all Malaysians regardless of income level and it requires a working MyKad and a valid driver’s licence.
If you don’t want to go through the hassle of producing your MyKad each time you fuel up, TNG eWallet is introducing the BUDI95 mini-app which lets you purchase RON95 petrol with a single QR code. Best of all, it works across all petrol station brands in Malaysia. .
How to use BUDI95 with TNG eWallet

Here’s how to purchase RON95 petrol via TNG eWallet’s BUDI95 mini-app:
- On the TNG eWallet home page, tap on “BUDI95” on the home screen. Alternatively, you can tap on “more” and search for “BUDI95”.
- Tap on “Buy Fuel“
- Select the petrol station (or turn on location service to automatically detect stations nearby)
- Enter the pump number and the desired fuel amount
- Confirm your order and proceed to complete the payment within the TNG eWallet app.
- A QR code will be shown and you can proceed to the petrol station’s counter to scan the QR code
- Proceed to fuel up your car with RON95
Take note that the QR code is only valid for 15 minutes. If you wish to pump full tank, you can enter a higher amount. If you do not use your QR code and if there’s remaining balance, it will be refunded to your eWallet account automatically.
Unlike Setel, this method still requires you to walk to the counter. But at least you skip the manual process of presenting your MyKad and making the payment transaction.

If you’re at a Petronas station, you can fuel up via the Setel mini-app on TNG eWallet. Setel has been integrated into the eWallet since June and it allows you to activate the pump directly without going to the counter.
How to check your BUDI95 eligibility and balance quota?

The BUDI95 mini-app in TNG eWallet will indicate if you’re eligible to enjoy RM1.99 per litre for RON95 petrol and it will also display the remaining balance of your subsidised fuel quota.
Malaysians can also check their eligibility online via BudiMadani.gov.my.
As announced by the Ministry of Finance, each eligible Malaysian will be given a monthly quota of 300 litres. eHailing drivers are exempted from this 300L quota limit and they can request for higher quota allocation.
The mass rollout for BUDI95 is happening on Tuesday 30th September 2025. However, the government is giving early access to members of the police and military on Saturday 27th September and for B40 groups (recipients of STR) on Sunday 28th September 2025.
As clarified by Finance Minister II, Malaysians can purchase subsidised RON95 petrol with no daily limit.
How to verify your TNG eWallet with eKYC
To use TNG eWallet’s BUDI95 feature to enjoy cheaper subsidised fuel, you’ll need to complete your electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC). This is a digital verification process to verify that you’re a Malaysian and it requires you to take a photo of your MyKad and a selfie.
Here’s how to complete the eKYC if you haven’t already
- Launch the TNG eWallet app and tap on your profile on the top right corner.
- Tap on Account Verification, then tap on Verify Account
- Under ID Type, select MyKad
- Scan the front of your MyKad
- Take a selfie
- Fill up additional details of yourself and tap submit
According to TNG eWallet, the eKYC process should be completed immediately. However, if it requires more information, it may take up to 7 working days.
