Boy in dog attack stable after first surgery, says father

KAJANG: The six-year-old boy who was attacked by a dog in Taman Megah on Wednesday is in stable condition and responding well to treatment.

His 64-year-old father said his son had completed the first surgery and was awaiting the second.

“Alhamdulillah, he is stable.

“There are two surgeries scheduled.

“He came out of the first one at about 2pm yesterday,” he told the New Straits Times.

He said he was waiting for instructions from the doctor at Hospital before the second surgery could be carried out.

“I’m very sad that this happened to my son. There are five wounds on his head, and they are deep,” said the father of four.

The boy was initially taken to Kajang Hospital before being transferred to Hospital.

The dog has been taken to the Kajang Municipal Council’s Animal Detention Centre.

The status of the animal, including whether it is a registered pet, is under investigation.

It was reported that the boy was cycling along the street when a dog jumped to attack him.
