KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations into two sudden death report cases that occurred on the same day showed that both students did not know each other, say police.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said this when asked on updates to the case after a press conference at the contingent headquarters here on Thursday (Aug 28).
“We are fully committed to investigating the deaths of the two students.
“As of now, both cases do not show any connections even though both occurred at the same building and involved students from the same college. They do not know each other,” he said.
He reiterated that investigations are being conducted to determine if elements of bullying occurred.
On the morning of Aug 20, a 22-year-old woman fell to her death from a condominium in Taman Melati while another student, aged 22, fell to his death from another block of the same condominium at night.
The mother of the first victim also filed a police report claiming that her daughter was the victim of bullying at her university.
Both were students from the same university.
