BUTTERWORTH, Oct 28 — Police are searching for a local man to assist in investigations into the murder of a man who was stuffed in a suitcase near the Ampang Jajar Flats, Permatang Pauh here, on October 9.
Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) district police chief ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman said the man was identified as Ong Wei Hai, 41, and his last address was at A-7-07, Villa Tanjung, Jalan Villa Tanjung in Butterworth.
“The police are appealing for the cooperation of the public who have information about the man or the case to contact case investigation officer ASP Norhaslinda Rahmat at 04-576 2222 (ext. 2275) or any nearest police station to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which is murder.
On October 22, police arrested two men and two women, all aged 24 to 42, separately at several locations in Penang and Perak to assist in the investigation into the case.
The media previously reported the discovery of a man’s body stuffed in a suitcase near the Ampang Jajar Flats and he was later identified as Lee Boon Han, 31, who was reported missing by his family on October 8. — Bernama
