KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) has unveiled its six-pillar manifesto for the 17th Sabah General Election, a week ahead of polling day.
The manifesto, themed “Rancangan Pembangunan Sabah Satu (RPS1)”, outlines the party’s key commitments.
The first pillar focuses on economic prosperity and quality of life, including the establishment of a wealth fund, cash assistance, public housing, and infrastructure development.
Initiatives will also empower entrepreneurs and provide funds for local communities to participate in tourism and the creative industries.
The second pillar champions women’s participation, targeting 30 per cent representation in policy-making and the protection of their well-being.
Under the third pillar, BN aims to provide free education for underprivileged students, along with one-off incentives and flight tickets, among other initiatives, to encourage more youths to pursue tertiary education.
The fourth pillar addresses Sabah’s rights, including the formation of a special committee in the Sabah Legislative Assembly to monitor state autonomy, representation for Sabah in federal government-linked companies and a review of the 35 per cent parliamentary seat allocation for Sabah and Sarawak.
The fifth pillar focuses on public healthcare through several targeted schemes.
The sixth and final pillar concerns sustainable resources, including the establishment of the Sabah Petroleum Council, restructuring of all oil and gas companies in Sabah to prioritise local employment and exploring green energy opportunities.
