KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) will hold discussions with its component party, MIC, amid speculation that the latter may join Perikatan Nasional (PN).
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed the matter today, saying he would raise it directly with MIC president Tan Sri S. A. Vigneswaran soon.
“I will ask him (Vigneswaran) personally,” he said briefly.
Vigneswaran had previously said that MIC had not ruled out the possibility of joining PN, though he stressed it was still too early to make a decision.
He described the invitation by Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man as a “preliminary courtship” (merisik), adding that MIC would study the matter carefully before reaching any conclusion.
