PETALING JAYA:

Bersatu has banned members from meeting, interacting and attending events by those under disciplinary action by the party.

A circular by party secretary-general Azmin Ali said it was an offence for any member to work together with those outside the party, including members who had been disciplined, to smear the party’s image.

Azmin said that those who teamed up with members who were under disciplinary action were in violation of the party constitution and code of conduct.

“The party will take action against those who breach the constitution,” read the circular, dated today and addressed to state party leaders and division chiefs.

While it did not identify anyone in particular, Bersatu had suspended Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal and sacked Wan Saiful Wan Jan for violating the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

Bersatu’s disciplinary board also expelled four division chiefs; Azrudin Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Isa Saidi (Ampang).

When contacted, Bersatu assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin confirmed the authenticity of the circular which is currently making the rounds on social media.
