SEPANG, Nov 11 (Bernama) — Transport Expo Asia (TXA) 2025 will serve as a strategic platform to attract foreign investment and strengthen international collaboration in the green and digital transport sectors, according to the Transport Ministry.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said TXA 2025 is more than an industrial exhibition. It is also an important avenue to introduce government policies, investment opportunities, and innovative initiatives to global and local industry players.

“The ministry’s main focus for TXA 2025 is to attract foreign investments and enhance international collaboration in the green and digital transport sectors,” he told Bernama at the Bernama Mobile Studio interview here today.

Earlier, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook officiated the inaugural TXA 2025, themed “Future on the Move: Digital, Sustainable Transport, Agile Logistics and ESG-Driven Supply Chains.”

Hasbi said TXA also serves as a regional industry meeting hub as it enables the exchange of knowledge, technology, and the latest innovations among ASEAN transport industry players.

TXA connects policymakers, industry operators, and technology providers to strengthen the integration of the ASEAN transport system through conferences and exhibitions, he said.

It also helps coordinate smoother and more eco-friendly regional mobility strategies, supporting Malaysia’s efforts to become a sustainable regional logistics hub.

On the government’s role, Hasbi said policies such as the logistics and trade facilitation master plan and the implementation of green transport initiatives demonstrate the government’s commitment to sustainable development.

“The government plays a key role through policy formulation, such as the logistics and trade facilitation master plan and green transport initiatives, which include tax incentives for green technologies, the development of low-carbon infrastructure, and the use of renewable energy in the logistics and public transport sectors,” he said.

TXA also brings together more than 100 global companies to enable local companies to interact, establish partnerships, and build capacity to enhance local technological capabilities, ensuring that benefits are equitably shared via tech transfer and joint investment opportunities.

MOT will also continue to support the private sector in implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices and accelerate digital transformation, he said.

“The ministry provides ESG implementation guidelines and encourages via incentives and financial support while promoting the adoption of automation technology, digital systems, and smart solutions to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness in the private sector,” he said.

He noted the main challenges in accelerating the green transport agenda include the high cost of implementing technology and the limited renewable energy infrastructure.

“The ministry continues to address these challenges through collaboration with industry and international agencies to expand green technology adoption,” he said.

To ensure a balance between development and the environment, Hasbi said the ministry has adopted a green infrastructure approach to ensure that every development project adheres to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) guidelines.

“This approach ensures that infrastructure growth goes hand-in-hand with environmental preservation,” he said.

He added that TXA 2025 also includes the Road Safety Congress (RSC), which focuses on road safety and public awareness.

Summing up, he said TXA focuses on innovation, technology, and smart mobility, while RSC concentrates on road safety and enforcement.

“They complement each other to achieve safety and sustainability, the objectives of national transport,” he said.
