KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) — Malaysia always prioritises the interest of its people in the management of skilled labour within the country, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He added that at the same time, the need for international expertise in strategic fields must also be balanced. This includes ensuring that the management of skilled foreign workers aligns with the country’s development needs.
“Good coordination will help ensure a smooth economy, technological development, and strengthen the country’s global competitiveness.
“God willing, we can produce more high-quality local talent, thereby reducing our long-term dependence on foreign labour,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier, Ahmad Zahid chaired a Special Expatriate Coordination Meeting in Putrajaya.
