KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 13 (Bernama) — More than 400 students from higher learning institutions and entrepreneurs from Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMEs), especially those in the B40 income group in Terengganu, benefited from the Business Digitalisation Programme 2025 (PPP25) held at the Terengganu Trade Centre (TTC), here today.
Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) chairman Ahmad Subki Yusof said that PPP25, which was introduced this year, is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the business sector by empowering B40 entrepreneurs and students through the use of digital technology.
He said the effort is in line with the government’s digitalisation initiative to broaden exposure to the role of digital transformation, with the goal of improving product quality, sales revenue, and market expansion.
“SSM is always committed and mindful of assisting and facilitating entrepreneurs, especially among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), so they can apply digitalisation technology effectively and efficiently in their business operations.
“This is consistent with the aspirations of the Inclusive Economic Development and People’s Well-being Policy introduced under the Malaysia MADANI framework,” he said when speaking at the opening ceremony of the Terengganu State Level PPP25 at the TTC here today.
The implementation of the Terengganu State Level PPP25 is the second series this year, following the first edition held in Sabah last June.
It is a continuation and rebranding of previous SSM entrepreneurship programmes, namely the Young Entrepreneur Programme and the Entrepreneurial Guidance Programme.
Various activities were conducted throughout the PPP25 programme, including a briefing on the Importance of Legally Registering a Company, a Scam Alert slot, Business Digitalisation, Digital Marketing Strategies, the Use of Digital Payment Channels, and experience sharing from successful entrepreneur icons.
The event also included the distribution of Wakalah Zakat Korporat and SSM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions totaling RM290,000 to be channeled to those in need.
According to SSM records, 15,311 companies have been incorporated, 407,008 businesses, and 526 Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) have been registered in Terengganu as of August 31.
Of that number, 6,040 companies have been incorporated, 71,035 businesses, and 486 LLPs are reported as active.
