MINSK, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Belarus’ gold and foreign currency reserves reached 12.41 billion U.S. dollars as of Sept. 1 this year, setting a new record, the country’s central bank said on Wednesday.
In August, gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by 471.4 million dollars following an increase of 400 million dollars in July.
The volume of foreign currency in reserves amounted to 5.07 billion dollars as of Sept. 1, up 251.8 million dollars month on month. The volume of monetary gold was estimated at 5.94 billion dollars, having increased by 225.1 million dollars.
The Belarusian authorities estimated the country’s international assets at no less than 7.1 billion dollars by the end of 2025.
