KUALA LUMPUR: A roadside dispute in Batu Pahat that went viral on social media has been resolved through a settlement, though public debate over the incident continues to simmer online.
The confrontation, which involved two drivers, was settled on Wednesday after all parties involved agreed not to pursue further action.
The incident reportedly began when a Mini Cooper was double-parked in a commercial area, blocking another vehicle.
In a widely shared video, a driver is heard repeatedly sounding a horn before a woman emerges from a nearby shop to move the car.
Subsequent clips showed a heated exchange, with the woman apologising while several bystanders reprimanded her.
Other videos later surfaced showing the driver being surrounded by a group of men in another part of the town, while one clip appeared to show the woman being pushed on the head.
Batu Pahat police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani confirmed that all individuals were questioned at the district police headquarters on Wednesday.
“After discussions, both parties reached a settlement agreement and will not take any further action over the matter,” he said, as reported by China Press.
