Batik Air launches maiden international flight to Bangkok from Subang

KUALA LUMPUR: Batik Air has launched a new direct flight from Subang to Bangkok, marking the first international route from the airport.

The inaugural flight was greeted at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in a modest ceremony to celebrate the milestone.

Batik Air announced that alongside the new Bangkok route, it also launched direct flights between Subang and Kuching on the same day, marking its second service to Sabah and Sarawak.

“These new routes strengthen the airline’s expanding footprint at Subang, where it currently offers services to Penang, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu and Tawau through a connection in Kota Kinabalu,” it said.

With the addition of the Bangkok and Kuching routes, the airline now offers five direct flights from Subang, providing travellers with greater choices for both domestic and regional travel.

Batik Air chief executive officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said the airline is proud to expand connectivity through Subang, offering travellers enhanced convenience and flexibility as an alternative to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

“With these new routes, we are not only deepening our presence in Subang but also bringing travellers closer to the destinations they love, whether it is exploring Bangkok’s vibrant streets or experiencing Kuching’s rich cultural charm,” he said.
