Asean Records recognises two innovators for innovative contributions

KUALA LUMPUR: Two honourees of the Asean Book of Records are set to contribute significantly to Malaysia’s progress with their innovative initiatives.

The first honouree, Cygnus Technology Solutions founder Eugene Teow, reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the provision of comprehensive IT solutions.

The company was recognised for being Asean’s First Integrated Managed IT Systems Provider (iMSP), offering end-to-end IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and private cloud solutions to 445 cyber insurance-compliant SME clients since 2010.

In addition, Cygnus Technology earned the title of Asean’s Largest Virtual General Meeting Provider, hosting a record 270 meetings on a private cloud with live voting results since 2020.

“Cybersecurity is the next big thing. The Malaysian government is introducing three new cyber laws, and while they have been passed, the framework is still being tabled in Parliament.

“Our goal is to understand these new regulations and promote our services to help Malaysians, SMEs, and individuals comply, ensuring a safer cyberspace,” Teow said during the Red Radiance Spring Gather of Achievers 2025 event hosted by Asean Records and World Youth Achievement Records.

As an iMSP, he said Cygnus Technology stands apart from traditional IT vendors by providing holistic solutions, rather than standalone products.

The company’s latest focus is on cyber insurance compliance, helping two private medical centres in Malaysia become some of the first to achieve coverage.

“Cyber insurance requires specific security measures and solutions before businesses can qualify.

“Since we understand both the compliance requirements and the products, and how to properly deploy and manage them, we make it easier for our clients to secure coverage.”

Teow also highlighted the company’s Malaysian-built private cloud solution, designed to meet data sovereignty requirements, ensuring that all data remains within the country.

This end-to-end solution helped secure their second award.

“We have seven upstream internet bandwidths, with at least four within Asia, which is why we can produce live, instantaneous results during company general meetings. It’s a proud moment for us,” he added.

Teow expressed gratitude to his colleagues, clients, and supporters for their continuous encouragement.

Meanwhile, Westwood Clinic made history as Asean’s First Physical Wellness Clinic to integrate patented AI voice biomarker technology for digital mental health diagnosis and intervention.

Managing Director Dr Jest Wong said the clinic combines aesthetic treatments with mental health support.

“Our clinic is well known for aesthetic treatments, but we believe beauty is not just about external appearance — it comes from within,” Wong said.

To address this, Westwood Clinic collaborated with universities and researchers to develop an AI-powered tool that analyses voice recordings to detect signs of depression, stress, and anxiety.

Based on the assessments, personalised interventions are recommended to improve mental health.

“This integration is the first of its kind in Asean. We also provide basic mental health treatments for free, including hypnotherapy and sleep-enhancing products for those struggling with insomnia or depression,” Wong added.

Over the past two years, the clinic has helped approximately 5,300 individuals through direct interventions. The AI tool has been downloaded and used by nearly 559,000 people for mental health assessments.

Wong believes that improving national well-being starts with cultivating a compassionate community and hopes to expand this approach to more wellness centres.

“I hope this record will encourage others to follow in my footsteps, integrating mental health care into wellness practices and ultimately contributing to a better nation,” Wong said.
