SERDANG: The housemate of a murdered salesgirl whose nude body was found in Seri Kembangan last week has been arrested, bringing the total number of people detained over the murder to four.
Serdang police chief, Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad, said the housemate, an unemployed woman in her 30s, was arrested on Sunday.
Three men, aged 24 to 30, including the victim’s ex-boyfriend and adopted brother, were arrested on Friday.
Police are in the process of obtaining a further remand order for the three male suspects , Farid said. He added that police have so far recorded statements from eight witnesses, including the victim’s neighbours and acquaintances in the residential area.
“Police are still looking for several people who may be able to help the investigation,” he said when contacted.
The victim, 24, worked as a salesgirl in Ampang and a convenience store in Bukit Bintang. A member of the public discovered her body in Blue Water Estate, Seri Kembangan, on the evening of Oct 29.
Farid urged those with information about the victim to assist in the probe by contacting the nearest police station or the Serdang District Police Headquarters at 03-8074 2222.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
