Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to announce several new initiatives under the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) in the Dewan Rakyat tomorrow.
Deputy entrepreneur development and cooperatives minister R Ramanan confirmed this when winding up the debate on the 13th Malaysia Plan for his ministry today.
He said the initiatives would deliver a stronger socio-economic impact and ensure the community continues to be supported and benefit from national development.
“This step also reflects the government’s continued determination to lift the role of the Indian community as a partner in the country’s development through inclusive, progressive approaches based on comprehensive impact,” he said.
Ramanan said the government would use a new approach that is more strategic and effective in crafting new initiatives and programmes under Mitra.
