KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim will be meeting with Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat leaders during his one-day visit here.

, who arrived at the state capital past midnight, will be at a hotel here by 11am for the politics agenda.

is expected to keep tabs with the Sabah Pakatan Harapan’s preparation towards facing the upcoming state election.

During his visit to Tawau in May, Anwar had said he hoped that Sabah’s new government would be made up of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)- PH- Barisan Nasional() that is aligned with the unity government.

However, he had also given assurance to GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor that he could lead in the discussions with .

Hajiji had announced last week that GRS would work with PH for the state election but the local-based coalition must dominate most of the 73-state seats.

Yesterday, deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said intended to contest at least one state seat in 25 parliamentary seats in Sabah.

Sabah chief Datuk Mustapha Sakmud had also said that PH eyed for 25 or 26 seats.

Currently, GRS has 38 state seats; 11 and PH 7.

Prior to the political meeting, Anwar will also close the three-day National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day at Sabah International Convention centre here at 9am.

Agriculture and Food Security minister Datuk Mohamad Sabu and Hajiji, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, are also expected at the event.
