KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — Malaysia, as Chair of Asean 2025, has led the regional bloc with confidence through a time of global change, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

“The 47th Asean Summit concluded Malaysia’s Chairmanship with historic milestones achieved in Kuala Lumpur, from the KL Peace Accord between Cambodia and Thailand to the signing of the Asean- Free Trade Area 3.0,” said , who also shared a video highlighting the summit’s key moments.

He said Asean’s true strength lies in the loyalty, inclusivity and mutual trust among its member states.

“As this chairmanship is handed over to the Philippines, Malaysia looks back on the journey with gratitude. Not all deadlocks have been resolved, but every bold step has helped shape history towards hope and justice,” he said.

The Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to Malaysians for their patience and hospitality towards regional partners throughout this year.

“The world has witnessed it, this is the real Malaysia!” he added.

The 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits, which concluded on October 28 after three days, also recorded several key achievements, including the formal admission of Timor-Leste as Asean’s 11th member state. — Bernama
