CYBERJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim performed a small jump in front of the media to demonstrate that he is fully recovered and healthy.
His display followed a question about his recovery from recent back pain. The Prime Minister addressed the media after the launch ceremony of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 on Thursday (Nov 6).
“Alhamdulillah, I have recovered. I am good,” Anwar said with a smile, before doing a quick jump on the spot. He was then promptly escorted to his waiting car.
On Nov 2, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that Anwar had to cancel his scheduled working visit to Pahang due to medical advice, as he was experiencing back pain that limited his movement and required sufficient rest.
The PMO also conveyed Anwar’s sincere apologies to the people of Pahang, who had prepared to welcome him.
Anwar returned home on Saturday (Nov 1) after concluding his visit to South Korea, where he led the Malaysian delegation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Economic Leaders’ Meeting on Oct 31.
Before that, the Prime Minister chaired the 47th Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur, which took place from Oct 26 to 28 and was attended by world leaders.
