KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim acknowledged the unwavering support of his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as he returned to work, sharing a heartfelt message on social media.
“At every step, there is a hand that always makes sure I am not alone. Love, Azizah” he posted on Facebook today.
The post drew warm responses from followers, who wished the prime minister a speedy recovery and praised the couple for their love and support for each other.
Anwar had cancelled his scheduled working visit to Pahang on Sunday due to back pain.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the last-minute cancellation was made on the advice of his medical team after he experienced back pain that restricted his movement.
Anwar had just returned to Malaysia after attending the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, from Oct 31 to Nov 1.
Last week, he had a packed schedule as Malaysia hosted the 47th Asean Summit on Oct 28, which was also attended by United States President Donald Trump.
