GYEONGJU: Malaysia and the United States will continue to strengthen economic ties, including joint commitments between the US Treasury and Bank Negara Malaysia.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the strong ties are necessary to ensure economic policy stability between the two nations.
“Focus is also given to efforts to strengthen bilateral economic bilateral relations.
“This includes joint commitments between the US Treasury and BNM in ensuring that the foreign exchange policy is resilient, stability of the financial market, as well as governance that is transparent and possesses integrity,” he said.
Anwar was speaking after a meeting with the Secretary of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Economic Leaders’ Meeting here today.
